Yuna Signs To Wilhelmina Models – It’s The Beginning Of Her Fashion Journey

In case you missed it, Malaysia’s iconic singer-songwriter Yuna was signed to Wilhelmina Models, the world’s leading modelling agency just last week!

According to NST, Wilhelmina Models was founded in 1967 by Dutch supermodel Wilhelmina Cooper, and is one of the most prominent modelling agencies in the fashion industry.

The Forevermore singer joins other international musicians like Shawn Mendes and Nicki Minaj, who are also signed to the modelling agency. Having stunned us with many Insta-worthy OOTDs before, this is just the beginning of her fashion journey. Let’s get to know more about Yuna!

Yuna’s skincare routine

According to the singer, it’s a lot to do, but we’re guessing that commitment is key if you want flawless skin like hers. She mentioned in an interview with us:

“I don’t really have a skincare routine but if there’s a tip, drink a lot of water. Also avoid fried food, wash your face before sleep, moisturise and sunscreen.”

As a jet-setter, she keeps to a few simple steps that work, and she’s got all her bases covered. Give us some water now!

Yuna’s confidence in her fashion sense didn’t come easy

Prior to getting signed to Wilhelmina Models, the singer has indeed, ventured into the fashion world. One of her collaborations is with local shoe designer, Christy Ng.

Despite her many strides in the fashion industry, Yuna’s confidence in her own fashion prowess didn’t come easy, although it looks pretty natural now. According to the singer, who shared on an Instagram post:

“It took me 10 years to find confidence in my style since I started making music.”

The singer didn’t know it took so long for her to gather her confidence to take up meetings with fashion brands and agencies. But cites that it was probably because she had listened to what people said about the standard of beauty

“I believed that I don’t have what it takes.”

But seeing other people do it sprung her into action.

Yuna realized that she has been doing this fashion thing here and there, but she never really went all the way. She told herself:

“I gotta stop being lazy!”

Now, she’s just happy to express herself with her OOTDs (and more, her fashion journey is just beginning).

“I’ve had a lot of fashion faux pas in the past, but a lot of learning, and now I’m finally at a place where I am just happy to express myself in fashion.”

It took me 10 years to find confidence in my style since I started making music.. I’ve had a lot of fashion faux pas in the past, but a lot of learning, and now I’m finally at a place where I am just happy to express myself in fashion. I don’t know why it took so long for me to gather my confidence to take up meetings with fashion brands, agencies etc maybe because I listen to what people say and what the standard of beauty is and I believed that I don’t have what it takes. But seeing other people do it I wonder like ‘wow- Ive BEEN doing this fashion thing here and there.. but why didn’t I do it all the way?’ I gotta stop being lazy! I’m excited about my fashion journey..I want to do more. It takes a while to find confidence, I found mine. If you haven’t found yours I hope one day you’ll find it too. We gotta elevate together sis!!!!❤️ photo by @aimanness stylist : @haidayusof makeup: @ahma_dani
