Sexy Star of New Erotic Thriller Makes Jamie Dornan’s ‘Christian Gray’ Look Boring

Netflix may be abuzz with the release of the new erotic thriller ‘365 DNI’ (‘365 Days’) but the world is transfixed by its main man. Dubbed the ‘Polish 50 Shades of Gray’, the movie follows a similar theme of ‘bestselling novel turned movie’. Written by author, Blanka Lipinska, the story revolves around the female protagonist, who is in a terrible relationship only to meet a dominant mafia boss (played by Michele Morrone) who gives her 365 days to fall in love with him. And while the reviews aren’t that great (not very different from its American counterpart, let’s be honest), the question on everyone’s mind is, who is Michele Morrone?

1. The Italian actor started in theatre.

Michele Morrone was born on October 3, 1990 in Melegnano, Italy to a to a Christian family. He studied theatre at the Teatro Fraschini di Pavia, while starting his journey as an actor with Italian film ‘2 + 2 = 5′. He was also a contestant on the Italian edition of ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ (‘Ballando con le stelle’). Michele Morrone now has several Italian and Polish films under his belt. Before starring in ‘365 DNI’, Morrone had a small part in Netflix’s recent courtroom drama titled ‘The Trial.’ However, it is his recent role as Massimo Torricelli in a film that he said would “shock the whole country” – and indeed it has. Before his raunchy role in the Polish film, he starred in a range of dramas including Medici (2016) and Bar Joseph (2019).

The album comprises of 10 songs, with some of them featuring as part of the tracklist for ‘365 DNI’. The songs touching, sorrowful lyrics coupled with Morroneo’s seductive voice adds to the “The Weeknd” vibe of his music.

3. He’s a dad.

While Michele Morrone is reportedly single at present, he was married to Rouba Saadeh, the designer and founder of Le Paradis Des Fous in 2014. Michele and Rouba were married for four years and had two kids, sons Marcus and Brando, before they got a divorce in 2018. Following their divorce, the couple agreed to co-parent their kids with shared custody.

4. He almost quit acting.

The actor has talked about how his divorce hit him hard, with it becoming a depressing time for him. It was so bad, he found himself working as a gardener in a small Italian village.

“A year and a half ago I was about to leave everything, I didn’t want to act anymore. I was in a severe state of depression after divorcing my wife. I found work as a gardener in a remote village of 1000 inhabitants because I had no more money in my pocket. But life is strange, when you’re down destiny puts the right train in front of you and if you’re strong you can take it. Always believe in yourself… ALWAYS,”

Now, the success of the movie has catapulted him to stardom.
