Definitely more than just Monday blues! Taking a look at Japan, the working hours usually range up to 80-hours a month and some even up to 100 hours of overtime, which leads to karoshi. It is a Japanese word that refers to people dying from spending too much time in the office, literal translation – death by overwork.
In China, Alibaba founder, Jack Ma recently caused a stir for encouraging employees to work from 9 am to 9 pm, six days a week, he calls it “996”.
Alibaba's Jack Ma wants its employees to follow 996 i.e 9am to 9pm six days a week at work and 669 i.e sex for six days, six times a week at home.
Does this man have no idea we are still humans and not robots yet?

But Malaysians are also experiencing the burnout, over-working culture. We spend more time at work than we do at home and when we do go home, work comes along. With WhatsApp texts from bosses to meeting unrealistic deadlines, it’s impossible at times to have a work-balance life.
I feel like it's actually not very right to post on work whatsapp group about work matters after working hours especially after 10pm onwards or on Public Holiday. Technology made things simpler but humans abuse it. All lines are now blurred. Where's the work-life balance?

Know that burnout differs completely from you being lazy and incompetence at work. If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, you could be suffering from the burnout syndrome.
