Tuxedos, Sparkles & Pink Ruffles Are The Trend At Oscars 2019

Hollywood is celebrating the brightest stars at the 2019 Oscars! This year at the Dolby Theater in LA, we’re seeing a lot of pink fluff, tuxedo and suit as well as sparkles.

From J.Lo, Gemma Chan, Constance Wu, Emma Stone to our very own Henry Golding, the stars were all dressed in their designer outfit, ready to impress the critics.

Here are the best dressed from the 2019 Oscars.

Pink Is The New Red

1. Kacey Musgraves

One of the presenters for the 2019 Oscars, Kacey Musgraves looked like a cotton candy dream in a pink Giambattista Valli dress. You would think country singer would get lost in her voluminous tulle gown with tiered skirt and flared sleeves, but she’s absolutely making heads turn in her couture outfit. 

2. Gemma Chan

If anyone can make hot pink high fashion it’s Gemma Chan in this marvelous fuchsia Valentino Haute Couture gown. It may look simple but not everybody can look lean and tall in taffeta pleats. She then enhanced her look with beautiful Bulgari jewels.

Call Mirren the pink lady because she looks absolutely elegant in this A-line Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown. An eternal style icon, she matched her V-neck, long sleeved bright pink tulle gown with same pink shade clutch. Also check out the Harry Winston blings on her!

4. Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet

After a list of bright, hot pinks, Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet decided to tone the red carpet down with matching soft pink ensembles by the late Karl Lagerfeld. The tux was actually personally designed by Lagerfeld for him while Lisa wore a Fendi dress from Lagerfeld’s last couture collection. Beautiful! 

Tuxedos & Suits 

1. Henry Golding

Billy Porter slayed the red carpet by breaking boundaries in this Christian Siriano Tuxedo Dress. The Pose star went bold in this velvety look that featured silk lapels, white ruffled sleeves, a black bow tie, and a voluminous ball skirt. If we’d have to choose a winner for tonight, it’d be freaking Billy Porter!

3. Melissa McCarthy

The tuxedo/suit style is totally taking over female celebrities as well! Melissa McCarthy dominated this look with a white long-sleeve top and white cape attached. The high-waisted black pants really flattered her figure as well. She then finished the look with Forevermark Diamonds. You know can never go wrong with black and white! 

4. Awkwafina

Looking like a lady boss! Awkwafina glitters at all the right places in this metallic lavender pantsuit by DSquared2. She complemented her glamorous look with a matching box clutch and kept her makeup neutral. Loving the huge bow tie too!

5. Amy Poehler

Classy, edgy and glam! Amy Poehler powered down the red carpet in a suit by Alberta Ferretti. She kept the ensemble subtle and delicate with a see-through ruffled shirt and relaxed hairdo.

6. Stephan James

1. Emilia Clarke

Mother of dragons dazzles the red carpet in a strapless, shimmery metallic Balmain gown in a dusty lilac hue. Emilia Clarke paired her stunning dress with drop earrings and chunky bracelets. 

2. Brie Larson

Brie Larson shined bright even without her Captain Marvel suit! The superhero dressed in Celine showed her amazing figure in the metallic, side slit silhouette.

3. Michelle Yeoh

Our favourite local star, Michelle Yeoh brought the glitz and glam to the 2019 Oscars as soon as she descended to the red carpet. The 56-year-old Crazy Rich Asians star defied her years in a timeless off shoulder gown by Elie Saab. The gorgeous creation featured embroidered gold lurex thread and ocean shade sequins.

4. Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is a continual fashion icon and her silver gown at the 2019 Oscars is just another addition to the growing list.

Jennifer Lopez never fails to hit the red carpet and land herself onto the best dressed list. She glitterred in a metallic Tom Ford long-sleeve gown with embroidered mirror mosaic design with matching jewelry and a Tyler Ellis clutch. Probably a safe look as she’s done this look a few times before. Nonetheless, she still looked gorgeous!

5. Glenn Close

Looking the Oscar statue itself, Glenn Close dazzled in this beautiful custom, hand-embroidered Carolina Herrera gold gown. So extravagant, it even included a long dramatic cape in which she paired the outfit with Tyler Ellis clutch.

Ruffles & Puffs 

1. Constance Wu

Constance Wu looked like a golden princess at the 2019 Oscars in this gorgeous, flowing, custom Versace gown. We love how the yellow colour glows on her skin! She then completes the look with Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry accessories.

2. Tessa Thompson

An ode to Karl Lagerfeld, Tessa Thompson paid tribute to the late fashion icon by opting for a dress from the Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2019 couture collection which debuted earlier this year in the French capital. She wore the tiered column gown with gold sequin accents along with a simple pair of Jimmy Choo sandals.

Marina De Tavira made her first appearance with a lasting impression as she walked the red carpet for the very first time in a red scarlet gown by J Mendel. The Mexican actress wore the ruffled sheer dress together with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
