4 Tips To Slay A First Date Even If You’re A Nervous Wreck

First dates can be pretty nerve-wracking, like, you may not even be yourself on that day.

Don’t worry – the first date isn’t like a job interview. Your date may judge you a bit, but you decided that you both liked each other enough to come out of your comfort zones. That takes courage.

Here are a few tips on how you can slay the first date and make him want more.

1. Wake up in a positive state of mind

Whatever you do today, you need to put yourself and your mind at ease. Whether you’re listening to calming music, knitting, lighting a candle or hiding from the Mercury retrograde, let yourself be at ease as you run a calming bath. Breathe deeply, inhale good vibes and exhale positivity. Make sure you’ve got enough time to get ready for your date because leaving in a rush can leave you dazed and confused.

2. Pick out the perfect OOTD

The perfect outfit depends on where and when your date is taking place. Since it’s just your first date, we assume it won’t be anywhere too fancy. Pick something attractive, yet comfortable for the weather. A cute denim skirt, off-shoulder top and a pair of pom-pom sandals make a pretty decent, casual outfit. Get enough time to do your makeup too – anything for an extra boost of confidence.

3. If you like your date, let him know

Well, how about giving him a quick kiss on the cheek if you really liked and appreciated his company? This exudes confidence and lets him know that you’re open for a second date. Don’t be afraid of appearing too forward. It’s okay to make the first move as long as it’ll work out well for you. Ask him, “So, when will I be seeing you again?” This time, you own the date.

4. Offer to split the bill

This may not be your cup of tea but offering to split the bill is a pretty nice gesture. If your date is the one who’s gonna pay, ask him what he’s having and choose something that’s around the same price. If he insists to pay, thank him and offer to get dessert or bubble tea next. Yay, you just nailed two dates in one day.
