These 3 Malaysian Influencers Prove That Life Is What You Bake Of it

How many of us can say that we’ve picked up that hobby we’ve been meaning to since the beginning of time?

Or that we’ve managed to learn a new language?

Or kickstart our business ideas?

The MCO was a great time to start something we’ve been putting on hold and a lot of people have managed to do just that! These three gorgeous individuals have also done the same! Naddy Rahman, Zooey Teo and Pearl Tan have turned to baking and sharing their yummy goods with people who need a little tea-time pick me up.

Naddy Rahman’s “Baked With Butter

Model and law graduate Naddy Rahman recently launched a joint venture with her mother – they’ve started up a baking business! Baked with butter is described as a “small & very new home-based business” in Sunway Damansara. Starting from sharing their delicious “Roti Naik” with their neighbours, word of mouth grew and brought them to where they are now! They bake everything themselves – from scratch – and can do anything from bread to different cookie recipes! They specialise in “Roti Naik”, which is a big round loaf of little mini buns and you have the option of choosing to get a smaller sized “Roti Naik” with 10 pieces, a medium one of 12 pieces or a larger one of 16 pieces. Naddy shared her wish for all business owners,

“Be strong during this crucial time. Keep being positive and don’t stop being creative in making new things!”

As of yet, the response has been overwhelming – so hurry before it’s too late!

The multitalented Sabahan born social media maven and TV host Zooey Teo has used her time at home to make heavenly banana bread with a sweet twist! With the MCO keeping us in and putting a halt to her flag football activities, the emcee has been accepting orders for her homemade banana bread for about three weeks now. Starting out as a fun way to earn a little extra, it was her followers’ amazing support that gave her the confidence to get her banana bread out there! Reviews on her Instagram highlights show that the banana bread is “so yums” with it being “moist, fragrant and indulgent”. She even makes mini loaves – for when you want to indulge but also want to stop yourself from eating a whole one! As for her encouragement to all small business owners during this time:

“I hope everyone will start to adapt to this new norm. It’s going to be hard but not impossible! Take advantage of social media and the technology that we have. There are plenty of opportunities still awaiting everyone. You just need to grab it and work hard and smart. If I can do it, you can do it too!”

Keep an eye out though – Zooey’s about to launch sales for her epic burnt cheesecake as well! For now, slide into her DMs if banana bread is your fave!

Pearl Tan’s “Pearltji’s Bakery”

Pearl, a creative genius when it comes to makeup – is now putting her hands to work to bake amazing milk bread! Her bread is described as slices of “heaven” with it being soft and fluffy. She too has been at it for almost three weeks now. Her milk bread is made using milk, butter, egg, sugar, yeast, salt and bread flour. The milk that Pearl uses in her bread is fresh Australian cow milk, which she gets by the week from her friend’s farm! Each loaf is RM12. In addition to bread, Pearl also makes her own kaya – natural pandan spreads that aren’t too sweet. In the kaya is coconut milk, egg, sugar and freshly squeezed pandan extract by Bear (her husband). The kaya goes for RM20 for a jar of 150grams of kaya. Each purchase comes with an individualized note that Pearl writes by hand. Why not indulge in Pearl’s bread and kaya for sahur?
