Kick-Ass Female Superheroes In The Marvel Universe We Can Look Up To
#ICYMI: Stan Lee, a legendary writer, editor and publisher who marvelously created the Marvel Comics has passed away at the age of 95, on Monday morning at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Known for his comic superheroes, from Black Panther, Spiderman, X-Men, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, Mighty Thor among various countless characters, Lee is also responsible for a fair number of iconic female superheroes in the Marvel universe.
Here are some of Stan Lee’s greatest and invincible female superheroes that we love:
1. Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel
Carol Danvers, a women with an accomplished career, worked as an Air Force pilot, intelligent agent and as a NASA employee, only gained her powers after she was exposed to the Psyche-Magnitron, a Kree device that rewrote her DNA. This transformed her into a Kree hybrid and gave her powers similar to Kree Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel. Her superpowers include, the ability to fly, super strength and “binary” powers which gave her the virtual strength of a sun.
2. Natasha Romanoff AKA Black Widow
She’s the ultimate cool and always capable spy. Natasha Romanoff, an orphan, was born in the Soviet Union and that’s when she joined the Russian army and Black Widow program to become a skilled assassin, enhanced with the Soviet version of the Super-Soldier serum. She then defected to S.H.I.E.L.D, became an Avenger and joined the forces of good.
3. Shuri From Black Panther
Shuri, sister of T’Challa and the princess of Wakanda, for a period of time, served as the Black Panther. Apart from also being a brilliant scientist, she fought against villains in her own right by ingesting a heart-shaped herb that enhanced her physical strength.
Gamora was raised by Mad Titan Thanos to be the “deadliest woman in the galaxy” when her parents were killed Thanos. She became a highly trained fighter practically invincible. However Thanos’s torturous mind games and punishing training took a toll on Gamora, in which she eventually broke ties with Thanos and joined the Guardians of the Galaxy as a way to redeem for the violence she committed while she was under his influence.
5. Laura Kinney AKA X-23
Laura Kinney was created from Wolverine’s stolen DNA and was made to be a perfect killing machine from the Weapon X experiment. However, she eventually escaped which led her to Charles Xavier and later on, the Avengers Academy.
