Savage x Fenty By Rihanna Just Reinvented Lingerie Fashion Shows
Okay, we get it – none of us are over NYFW ’19. In fact, we’re still starry-eyed about the celebrity-studded fashion show.
This time, Savage x Fenty delivered an absolutely stunning and empowering lingerie fashion show, and it’s not your typical runway walk either!
The full-blown fashion production by Rihanna was both inclusive and empowering, and it made Victoria’s Secret message of all-skinny exclusivity obsolete.
Savage x Fenty for NYFW ’19 was unlike any other fashion show

#NYFW just got REAL 🖤 Let us tell you, we had @caradelevingne, @gigihadid & @bellahadid SLAY the runway. @Normani & @iamhalsey SHUT👏IT👏DOWN👏 and @parishilton, @nickyhilton & @spaceykacey showed us what’s up! Do NOT miss this show when it premieres on Sept 20th on @amazonprimevideo #SAVAGEXFENTYSHOW
Well, first of all, according to this post by @dietprada on Instagram, phones weren’t allowed and guests were given their own lock cases. If her majesty Rihanna says something, you better do it.
Anyway, the runway was led by a diverse group of models, of all sizes, colours and people with disabilities. Like we mentioned, it’s not your typical runway. Rihanna made her mark at Barclays, Brooklyn with a full-scale production of song and dance.
A star-studded cast
Rihanna did what she did best, naturally. Dressed in killer heels, a sheer black body stocking, diamonds on her wrists and a black wrap skirt, the singer kicked off the show with a dance performance that only she can deliver. Although this was her runway show, Rihanna didn’t stick around for too long and let her performers take center stage. She only returned for the final bow.
A lineup of performers followed, including Halsey, DJ Khaled, Migos, A$AP Ferg and up-and-coming rap star Tierra Whack. Gigi Hadid led the runway walk, together with her sister Bella, Cara Delevigne, Alek Wek, Normani, Larverne Cox and Aquaria.
Savage x Fenty has redefined runway fashion
At the Savage x Fenty stage in Brooklyn, everyone was equally beautiful, and not one more than the other. Rihanna’s message about inclusivity and diversity continues to ring true throughout her performance, and it will do so in the fashion world. The show will be broadcasted to the public (a.k.a. commoners like us) through Amazon Prime and we’re excited to catch a glimpse of Savage x Fenty!
