Rihanna Is Blessing Us With A Skincare Line! Here’s What We Know So Far
Ready to shine bright like a diamond?
No, really – at the rate she’s going, Rihanna is ready to conquer the beauty industry. After launching makeup with Fenty Beauty in 2017 and lingerie with Savage x Fenty in 2018, it looks like Queen RiRi is going into skincare! On Tuesday, beauty news and trends Instagram account, Trendmood, unveiled a sneakpeak of what snippets of what we now know is the teaser for Fenty Beauty. The line now has an official website, Instagram page and Twitter account.
However, RiRi herself has confirmed the launch by posting a video of herself using (what seems to be) a cleanser, a toner and sunscreen/daycream. The 32-year-old singer turned mogul couldn’t contain her excitement as she captioned the video,
Ima try my best to be humble about this but, @fentyskin is coming July 31st exclusively at!! Y’all ain’t hear it from me.”
This doesn’t come as a COMPLETE surprise as fans of the brand may have already seen Page Six Style’s report way back in April last year. The report detailed how the name ‘Fenty Skin’ had been trademarked at the United States Trademark and Patent Office. The trademark is for “medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products … and related accessories such as kits, tools and applicators.” RiRi has technically already rolled out skincare with products like FENTY’s lip balm, lip scrub and blotting paper… so, is this an indication of how good the skincare line is going to be?

So far, it seems like FENTY SKIN is going to go with the minimalistic, quiet tones that FENTY BEAUTY’s packaging has been rolling out with. And, in line with the amazing inclusivity FENTY BEAUTY has set the standard for in the beauty community (50 shades of foundation – heck yeah!), it seems like FENTY SKIN will also be inclusive of genders. The singer has taken the time to reply to comments on Twitter asking if the skincare range will also cater to the men, saying…

While a skincare brand that caters to both men an women is not something new – could it be that FENTY SKIN will have products that BOTH men and women can use? You know, without the need for a “men’s range”. If so, this goes along with the line’s tagline:
The New Culture of Skincare
And whether or not RiRi is confident in her products? She must be because when speaking to British Vogue, the “Umbrella” hitmaker said that skincare is not something one can mess with and expect to be able to run away from the results. She stated,
Skincare, it’s the truth. It either works or it doesn’t. There’s nowhere to hide.”
The internet immediately blew up, going into a frenzy following the announcement:

After its launch in 2017, Fenty Beauty accumulated over $100 million in sales in its first few weeks. The brand is now worth over $3 billion. The reason for it’s success? Probably RiRi’s firm hand and clear brand image. Rihanna has admitted to having complete control over everything Fenty Beauty releases, including shade names and marketing copy.
Oh yeah! I write all of the copy for the websites, the product descriptions, product names, the color names… I do have a huge team, but I just don’t necessarily think their tone is mine. I’d feel like a fraud selling something that I can’t stand by.”
You can sign-up for early access on July 29 but the full range is set to drop July 31st. Fingers crossed RiRi’s skincare line is as good as her makeup!
