Kimura’s mother was Kyoko Kimura – a professional wrestler and mixed martial artists with a 14-year career in the sport. Born on the 3rd of September in 1997, Kimura (Hana) made her wrestling debut in 2016. She also went on to wrestle with her mother, who defeated her. However, Kimura (Hana) made her mark in the wrestling world by going on to win multiple titles such as that of the JWP Junior Championship, the “Artist of Stardom” Championship and the “Goddess of Stardom Championship”.
She was colourful inside and out.
Kimura had a bright and easygoing personality. She was also as bright on the outside as she was on the inside. She dyed her hair pink and it became a signature for her, along with fun and vibrantly coloured outfits. She would switch it up between neon bodysuits and comfortable T-shirts, depending on the occasion but she always wore a sunny smile. She has been described as “an amazing girl with the kindest soul and immense passion and work ethic” by Impact World Champion, Tessa Blanchard and “a wonderful human being” by British pro-wrestler, Jamie Young.
Fans of the talented young personality were alerted of her distress earlier on after she tweeted about being cyberbullied alongside images of what appeared to be the marks of self-harm. Her caption was translated to read,
“Around 100 frank opinions every day.
I couldn’t deny that I was hurt.
‘Die, you’re disgusting, disappear’ – until now, I’ve been the one thinking these things the most.
Thank you mom for giving birth to me.
It was a life of wanting to be loved.
Thank you to everyone who was by my side and supported me. I love you. I’m sorry I’m so weak.”
Her agency, Stardom Wrestling released a statement to announce her passing after her mother found her unresponsive. They tweeted,
“Stardom fans, We are very sorry to report that our Hana Kimura has passed away. Please be respectful and allow some time for things to process, and keep your thoughts and prayers with her family and friends. We appreciate your support during this difficult time.”
Our love is with her family and friends in this difficult time.
