Omegle Is Trending On Malaysian Twitter: Here Are 5 Reasons Not To Go Back

Here’s the effects of the movement control order/quarantine/isolation – people are going back on Omegle! That’s right folks, its 2020 and a chatroom from the 2000s is making its way back into our lives. They say that once something is on the internet it can never be erased but dang, who would have thought Omegle would survive all these years while Friendster did not? But, while we’re all bored out of our minds, why are we bringing this back, ya’ll?

But, if you’re wondering…

Omegle was launched in 2009 and marketed as an anonymous text chatting site. Soon, it became possible for video chatting and “spy mode” (giving one the ability to ask a question and to be the chosen “spy” for two other individuals). It still maintains the retro AOL chatroom style and anonymity is preserved by ensuring names are only “You”, “Stranger”, “Stranger 1” and so on. But should you hop onto Omegle for ol’ times sake? Heck – to – the – no, guys! Have you forgotten what it’s like there???

You meet weird uh…people…

The conversations aren’t always the most profound…

On omegle.com you can ask questions anonimously and see the strangers debate. So what's the meaning of life? Let me now what other questions you may find interesting to ask on omegle. Also, do you think this approach is ethical? #philosophy #omegle #lazyowl #lazyowlphilosophy #lazyphilosophy #meaningoflife

Things can escalate really quickly…

And the nice relationships only last so long…

Jokes aside, Omegle isn’t the safest place, ya’ll! If you can’t already tell, because the site allows for anonymity, there are loads of creepers and people ready to take advantage of you on the site. Not only does the site fail to catch nudity, sexual imagery and profanity, there is no age checks so there are tonnes of adults and predators looking for opportunities to take advantage of you. Not only that, each chat is kept and retained by Omegle! Take this Tweeter’s advice…

Some things are better left in the past.
