#MTV VMA’s 2020: The Most Memorable Hair Looks You Can’t Miss

Don’t get us wrong, we love a good outfit, but when it comes to the award shows, sometimes, we’re way more invested in the hair and beauty looks than the dresses. Despite the 2020 MTV Vma looking way too different this year due to the pandemic—socially distanced interview, no live audiences, face mask are required even on stage performing—but despite the consequences, when it comes to the beauty game, our stars did not disappoint.

Thanks to their hairstylist who spent hours making their clients sparkle like the actual A-lister that they are—from Keke Palmer prom inspired updo to Ariana Grande’s duet of luxe pigtails, here are the best hair looks from the 2020 MTV Vma.

This year’s host, Keke Palmer, rocked the red carpet with an elaborate updo styled on top of her head, with two straightened pieces left out in the front to create a ’90s feel. Some even point out that she also might get her hair inspo from Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s WAP.

Nicole Richie

We love a good accessory! During the pre-show interview, the 38-years-old TV personality referred to her look as ‘’Nicole fresh’’. She looked both angelic and royal at the same time with a spiky headband placed atop her curly updo—and that stunning mini lime dress? To die for.

Edges? Laid. To accompany her refractive and fringed Versace dress, the ‘’Boss Bitch’’ singer pulled her onyx mane into an extra-long updo, the ponytail tautly twisted and left to reach well past her hips. Also, can we note how pretty this bright pink eye look is? The extrasssss..

Ariana Grande

From the art of the single power ponytail, it seems like Ariana Grande is now doubling it down and opting for pigtails. Whether the occasion is an at-home photoshoot or a world premiere performance, the singer has clearly found a new favorite way to play when it comes to her hair.

The gorgeous supermodel and presenter, showed up to this year’s awards with newly jet-black hair, which she styled into a spiky, ’90s-style updo. As for makeup, she opted for a natural look with black liner rimmed all the way around. Give us major 2000s prom vibes!

Madison Beer

Madison Beer has it all—pretty face, angelic voice, fame and status, but if there’s one thing that we envy about her the most is those long silky ombre hair. Literally every girl’s dream. Her luxurious ombre hair was flawlessly flat ironed, as she oozed confidence on the red carpet.

The Kissing Booth actress went for a soft peaches look, with slightly smokey eyes, and petal-pink lips. Her hair, however, features fancy gilded barrettes that make a serious statement against her sleek, straightened hair. Cute, yet alluring. Might copy this look for my next date soon.

Bebe Rexha

Sleek high ponytail, smokey winged shadow, and a futuristic-y French manicure with ultra-long metallic tips. Bebe Rexha’s fashion look for the VMAs was super modern and cool. According to her hairstylist Iggy Rosales, she used all Dove products to keep Bebe’s hair on point all night.

Sofia Carson

The Descendants stars, Sofia Carson dazzled in classic, sleek and simple low-hung chignon hairstyles to keep the focus on the makeup. She also bewitched us in a monochromatic makeup look with coral eyes and lips that perfectly pair with her bright scarlet gown.
