MET 2019: Zendaya’s Cinderella Moment Was All Thanks To 5KG Of LED Lights

We soooo didn’t see this coming but Zendaya really transformed into a Disney princess at the 2019 Met Gala! Stunning the entire crowd at the event, she arrived all dressed up in fluorescent Tommy Hilfiger gown.

The dress which featured a powder blue tulle overlay, corseted bodice and exaggerated puffy sleeves transformed into a magical, lit (literally) ball gown fitting for Camp: Notes on Fashion. She even went blond and styled her in the exact way as Cinderella’s!

Honestly, their entrance was like no other. Together with her fairy godmother, Law Roach, they strut the red carpet and with the wave of the wand, her dress lit up right before our eyes!

The Magic Secret : Fashion x Technology

Well, according to In Style, it took eight people and three long months to create the magnificent Cinderella gown. FYI the dress weighed in at 11 lbs as it is made out of 20 carbon fiber rods, five batter packs that produced half a kilowatt of power, 40 meters of LED light strips, and 6,000 controllable points of light. Woah! How did Zendaya looked so poise walking around in that heavy dress?

And just to complete the theatrical entrance, Zendaya slips off one of her delicate glass slipper. Lucky for her, when the clock strikes midnight, she’ll still be a Met 2019 princess to all of us. Well except for that “someone”.
