Mariah Carey Reveals Ellen Forced Her To Drink Alcohol Which Lead To Miscarriage
Boy oh boy. Mariah Carey has come forward about an experience she had with Ellen DeGeneres while appearing on her show. Here’s a rundown—back in 2008, Mariah appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Ellen repeatedly questioned Mariah about possibly being pregnant. Naturally, the entire situation was really awkward to watch, but it was even more uncomfortable for Mariah to deal with.
In a new interview with Vulture, Mariah Carey, 50, reflected on that moment and said it was incredibly difficult for her to deal with in which Ellen pressured her to sip champagne to “prove that she isn’t preganant at that time”, as “extremely uncomfortable”—which expected, ended in a miscarriage soon after her appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
“I wasn’t ready to tell anyone because I had had a miscarriage,” the singer said. “I don’t want to throw anyone that’s already being thrown under any proverbial bus, but I didn’t enjoy that moment.”

While Ellen sure enjoyed a reputation of being extremely solicitous towards celebrities, she nonetheless pushed Mariah to confirm or deny tabloid rumors that she and then-husband Nick Cannon were expecting. Mariah tried to laugh off the questions and change the subject, but DeGeneres persisted. She tried to push Mariah to say she was pregnant by offering her a glass of champagne.
“I can’t believe you did this to me, Ellen,” Mariah said at the time. “This is peer pressure. What Ellen is doing, this is peer pressure.” “Let’s toast to you not being pregnant,” Ellen replied. Mariah took a very small sip of the sparkling wine, which prompted DeGeneres to say, “You’re pregnant!”. Here’s a full video:

Earlier in the month, Katy Perry, Kevin Hart, and Jerry O’Connell came to Ellen’s defense and said she’s always treated them nicely, but duhh, if they had an experience like Mariah’s, they’d be saying otherwise. So much for ‘’making people happy’’ huh Ellen?
