Easy, Makcik Kiah represents all of us Malaysians. Yes, she does not exist. She was used as an example to make it easier for the public to understand the situation and the incentives the government has announced.
In announcing the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package yesterday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin gives an example of how much the people are benefiting by giving an analogy through the story of Makcik Kiah and her family estimated to be worth RM8,664 in cash and savings.
I hope Makcik Kiah will spend wisely. pic.twitter.com/qREWwX6S6C

Makcik Kiah is a fried banana seller, who lives in the People’s Housing Project (PPR) Village Tun Razak. Considering her household income is below RM4,000, Makcik Kiah would be eligible for the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional amounting to RM1,600.
Her husband, whose a government pensioner and now brings Grab, would receive RM500 in pension aid and another RM500 in e-hailing cash aid. On top of that, Makcik Kiah’s husband is also a Rela volunteer, which entitles him to RM200 monthly until the Covid-19 outbreak ends.
Their household would also receive a RM600 balance from the Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH) handout. With their unmarried son still living with them, he will receive RM800 under the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional for singles. Makcik Kiah’s son also would be saving from the 6 month delay of PTPTN repayment of RM1,200.
Muhyiddin also said that Makcik Kiah’s family would also be able to save PPR for a six-month lease of RM744, a six-month auto loan suspension of RM1,800, a six-month saving on electricity bills of RM120.
“So Makcik can smile a little at the count I made,” said Muhyiddin.
Folks on Twitter are loving the Makcik Kiah example used by Muhyiddin—remarked that the PM’s speechwriter should be given a raise, saying that Makcik Kiah humanises the Prihatin Rakyat concept.
One second I am laughing hard because the example of Makcik Kiah is very good. "RM8664 jumlah manfaat. Maka Mak Cik Kiah bolehlah senyum sedikit". Another second I am so touched by TSMY final say in English. Political aside, TSMY pulls the greatest final sentence on every speech.
