Madonna Was COVID-19 Positive; Her Daughter Tours NYC Without A Mask

Last week, the iconic Madonna, revealed that she had been COVID-19 positive during her Madame X world tour. And in turn, her daughter, Lourdes Leon, has been seen out and about in New York City with her friends – without a mask on. This is hot on the heels of accusations that Madonna had broken stay home orders by attending a party.

As she stepped out with some friends to grab a coffee, Leon is seen without a mask while her friends are opting for them. The 23-year-old was relaxed as she chatted and smoked with friends, seemingly oblivious to the fact that she was ignoring New Yorks social distancing rule. This is especially concerning with New York being the epicentre of the virus in the US, with over 333,000 cases (58,006 recoveries and 21,271 deaths).

And while Madonna has been in quarantine in London with her boyfriend and daughter, Mercy James, it is not known how recently the two were in contact with each other. Madonna herself has been recovering from a knee injury, sustained during a fall at one of her shows. She carried on despite the struggle and ended up finishing the show, but the tour was then cancelled 3 days before it was supposed to end, with the French government banning gatherings of more than 1,000 people. However, it was recently reported that the singer attended – in person – a party for her friend, Steven Klein’s 55th birthday. Apparently, no one at the party was in protective gear.

Madonna went on to cause controversy after calling COVID-19 “the great equaliser” in a video of herself in a rose-petal filled bathtub. However, she has not failed to do her part, raising money for the development of a vaccine and earlier on, donating masks to frontliners. In her post, she details having been sick and refuting headlines that state otherwise,

When you test positive for anti-bodies it means you HAD the virus which I. clearly did as I was sick at the end of my tour in Paris over 7 weeks ago along with many other artists in my show.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stated that it is possible to test positive for antibodies without having shown symptoms, meaning that people can carry the virus without knowing it. However, they do not guarantee that having it once means that you won’t get it again. Stay home and if that’s not an option, stay safe by wearing a mask, practising social distancing and keeping clean guys.
