Kelly Clarkson Files For Divorce After Almost 7 Years Of Marriage

Alexa, now is the perfect time to play “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” “Miss Independent,” “Since You’ve Been Gone,” or any other soundtrack from your Kelly Clarkson Breakup Songs playlist on Spotify—because Kelly Clarkson has just filed to divorce her manager-slash-husband, Brandon Blackstock. And according to The Blast and Us Weekly, Kelly filed the papers to end their marriage last week in Los Angeles on June 4.

Here’s a little backstory of the couple—Their first meeting was at 2006 American Country Music Awards when Kelly was rehearsing a song with Rascal Flatts and his band, which Brandon just so happened to be managing at the time. Brandon and Kelly later reconnected in 2012 through their mutual friend, Blake Shelton (whom Brandon also manages). After 10 months of dating, Brandon popped the question to Kelly, and they tied the knot the following year.

Kelly and Brandon then tied the knot in 2013, and they have two children together: five-year-old daughter River and four-year-old son Remington Alexander.

I never felt like, honesty, sexually attracted to anybody before him

This split comes seemingly out of nowhere. During the Dec. 22, 2019 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly spoke with The Voice winner Brynn Cartelli. During the talk, Kelly indicated that her sex life was still on fire. “Well, Brynn, I was single for many years, so I have children. And how one makes children is generally what I do before bed. That’s not a lie. That’s real, and it’s not weird. It’s natural.”

Soooooo, the only possible sign that there was “trouble in paradise”???
