Katy Perry On Her Friendship With Taylor Swift: ‘’We’re Not Really Close’’

Just 8 months ago, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry iconically put an end to their long term feud when she surprised her fans by appearing in Taylor Swift’s music video, You Need To Calm Down, dressing up as a hamburger and fries. But it looks like the pop stars are far from being besties again. The two musicians are known for their rocky relationships over the years, and in a recent interview with Australia’s magazine, Stellar—Katy Perry opened up about her current friendship status with Taylor Swift:

‘’Well, we don’t really have a very close relationship because we are very busy. But we text frequently.” Katy also highlighted that it was “difficult” for her to be in Taylor’s video, saying, ‘’Even though it was difficult, it was important to make that appearance in the music video because people want people to look up to. We wanted it to be an example of unity. Forgiveness is important. It’s so powerful. If you can forgive your enemy, that’s amazing. As difficult as it is!’’

Last year, Taylor told Heart Breakfast it was Katy that instigated their reunion. The ‘’Miss Americana’’ revealed, ‘We reconnected a while ago. It started when she sent an olive branch to, like an actual olive branch to my tour. She continued, ’’It was like a beautiful wreath and you could hang it, it was really so great. And so that was when you know I think for both of us it was completely like there was no weird feelings.’’

Taylor explained that the gesture removed any tension and bad feeling from their argument and they decided to put their feud behind them. Well, let’s hope there will be no more Bad Blood between these two pop stars.
