Most of us have skincare routines comprising of basic moisturiser, toner and sunscreen. However, if you’re a skincare enthusiast, you’d probably reach the pinnacle of your routine once you’re left with only eye cream.
Eye cream makes you think twice because they literally cost twice as much as moisturiser for half the amount. Rude!

Eye cream is honestly one of the skincare industry’s most elevated products. It’s expensive, fun to use, and you’re often not too sure about it’s efficiency. Yet it’s function is important – which is to moisturise the delicate skin around your eyes. However, could you get the same benefits of eye cream within a jar of moisturising ingredients? Speaking on behalf of eye cream, it really does have targeted effects, like to reduce crow’s feet, for example.

Basically, eye cream is a moisturiser infused with anti-aging properties like retinol and antioxidants. The skin around your eyes is more prone to wrinkles, dryness and milia. Honestly, if you feel the skin around your eyes, it’s probably thinner and more delicate. You’d be afraid to touch it. If the skin around your eyes is more prone to dryness than the rest of your face, there’s no need to slather on heavy-duty moisturiser everywhere. Crow’s feet comes early for some, and we must do all we can to prevent it and preserve our eternal youth.
Is eye cream really necessary?
Let’s be honest here, whether you use eye cream or not is entirely up to you. Just know that eye cream has targeted effects for skin issues around your eyes. If you’re starting to feel like you need eye cream, just a dab or two from the jar will do the trick. It may be costly, but you don’t use a lot of eye cream anyway.
