How, Where & When To Apply For Prihatin Rakyat Stimulus Package 2020

The Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) cash handouts for low-income households worth RM10 billion as declared by our Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on last Friday, will be disbursed in two phases based on the qualifying criteria, said the Finance Ministry. See below: 

The payments, part of the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package over the Covid-19 pandemic, will be made in two phases—at the end of April and May 2020 and includes households who earn RM4,000 and below, it said. 

Malaysians who are eligible for financial assistance under the stimulus package will have to register themselves with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB / LHDN), says the Finance Ministry.

Those who have previously registered for Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH) need not register. “For those who have yet to register (with IRB), new applications can be made beginning April 1st through the official IRB website”, (Click here).

The IRB can also be contacted via 1-800 882 747 or 03-8911 1000 between 9am and 5pm (Sunday to Friday) from March 30.

However, the Finance Ministry also cautioned the public not to fall victim to scammers over the Prihatin package. “Please refer to official sources only and do not give personal details to any third party’’.
