How To Party Past Your Bedtime Because You’re Basically A Grandma
If you’re reading this, you’re probably feeling the headline. Oh how did we’ve come to this, right? During your glory days, you were this party animal that knows no sleep and suddenly age hits you. Now all you want to do is to curl up in your bed by 10pm!
As much as you’d like to stay at home with a glass of wine in your hand and Netflix, you really do want to go out and have a good time with your friends celebrating T.G.I.F.
So how do you stay up partying with your friends? Here are five party tips for you if you basically feel like a grandma. No more yawning, y’all!
1. Stay sober
In other words, don’t drink any alcohol. Get this, alcohol is a depressant. Consuming drinks with alcohol makes your nervous system relax and sleepy. That’s probably why you’re always feeling sleepy an hour into the party!
2. Water is your best friend
Okay, but where’s the fun in that if you can’t drink while partying? If you simply must drink cocktails and beers, be prepared to also drink plenty of H2O. Alcohol is a diuretic, so it makes you pee more which then dehydrates you. Drink at least a glass of water in between drinks to counteract the drunk effect.
3. Eat a big meal
This is the basic rule of drinking – never, ever go drinking with an empty tummy. When you drink on a full stomach, you’re less likely to get drunk and experience a bad hangover the next day. Plus, it’ll give you the energy you need to dance all night long. The next time you feel sleepy, get a good slice of pizza!
4. Take a “disco nap”
It’s a legit term, it’s you getting a power-nap before party night. Never take long naps though, after 20-30 minutes, your body will fall into a deep sleep, that’s when you’ll wake up feeling all cranky. Get comfy, shut your eye for 20 minutes and you’ll be fresh and ready to par-tayyy!
