Forever21 Apologises For Sending “Free” Diet Bars In Customers Packages
Forever21 is in some serious heat after the fashion brand got called out for sending Atkins diet bars to its customers. Get this, the diet bars were shipped together along with orders of plus-sized clothing. Whuttt?

If you didn’t know, Atkin bars are low-carb snacks for weight loss. Supposed you were happy to finally get your shopping items from Forever 21’s website only to find a diet snack in your package. Bummer!

Well, you can only imagine what the shoppers felt.
Forever 21 is sending diet bars with clothes you order and that’s so insensitive holy crap like…. how about we don’t make someone negatively reflect on their body image when trying to just order some new outfits ? ????

Apparently @Forever21 sends out Atkins bars with all of its orders, which sends a wildly dangerous message to ALL of its customers. Not only is it fatshaming, it could also trigger people of all sizes who have EDs. This is as dangerous as it is inappropriate. https://t.co/gPfr3jMUK4

Forever 21 x ATKINS BARS Extremely disappointed.
A harmful message to people with eating disorders, disordered eating, and/or negative body image issues.

Although, there were some who felt it was okay. After all, it’s FREE.

And says it was all in the name of ‘healthy lifestyle’.
So #Forever21 are sending diet bars to orders of plus sized clothes. Apparently that's size 18 upwards. Not sure what the issue is. It's promoting better well-being a far healthier lifestyle rather than praising plus size women for being "brave" and "courageous". pic.twitter.com/5ma7i9IKvp

However, Forever21 has since issued a statement on Twitter and noted that the bars were “free tests products”.
— Forever 21 (@Forever21) July 25, 2019
“From time to time, Forever 21 surprises our customers with free test products from third parties in their e-commerce orders,” the company stated.
“The freebie items in question were included in all online orders, across all sizes and categories, for a limited time and have since been removed. This was an oversight on our part and we sincerely apologize for any offense this may have caused to our customers, as this was not our intention in any way.”
So @Forever21 adding diet bars to their packaging?! Talk about fat shaming! You don't have to be a certain size to matter! Long time body issues! THIS is not right! Disturbs me to no end! #LoveYourself pic.twitter.com/vGqQRaDTFu

Even after the apology statement, some were still unhappy and shocked to learn of Forever21’s new diet product. What do you think about Forever21’s Atkins bar gesture?
