From Fenty Beauty To MAC, These Cool Brands Have A Wide Range Of Foundation Shades For All
Foundation is essential when it comes to making the skin look extra flawless. However, finding the perfect shade for your skin tone can be tough, as there aren’t many brands that produce a wide range of selections. Let’s not even touch on the topic of unmatched foundation — it is simply the worst thing ever.
So of course, it’s no surprise that when Rihanna launched her brand Fenty Beauty, her 40 shade foundation range went flying of the shelves. From the fairest of the fairest to dark-chocolaty skin, every foundation tone is available, unlike some brands which prefer to feature shades designed for caucasian skin. However, Fenty Beauty isn’t the only brand to offer an extensive foundation selection.
More makeup brands have realised that people don’t just come in eight shades, so here are some of the brands which have produced an impressive range of shades to match all skin tones:
1. Fenty Beauty
Yasss! Of course Fenty Beauty is at the top of the list. Rihanna shook the beauty industry when she acknowledged the importance and the need to be inclusive to all shades of skin. The foundation range’s release was well thought of, considering that she took two years to develop the perfect shades and formula.
2. Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation
Offering the same 40 range of shades since 2015, Make Up For Ever not so subtly reminded beauty lovers in an Instagram post of it’s inclusive range of shades when Fenty Beauty first launched. The brand posted, “40 shades is nothing new to us -👄-“. LOL. If you’ve been a fan of Make Up For Ever, you’d probably know this. The lightweight and ultra comfortable formula is undetectable once blended, leaving the skin looking flawless like a goddess.

3. Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation
If you’re looking for an affordable foundation, you can check out the Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation. This great drugstore brand launched 16 whopping new shades last year, making it as inclusive as it can be. The brand doubled it’s range of hues, from the lightest to darkest in warm, cool and neutral tones. After all, it’s called Fit Me, and with these new range, you’ll be able to look for a shade that fits you best!

4. M.A.C Cosmetics Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation
This brand is no stranger to girls of colours, but recently on Sept 6th, M.A.C expanded their Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 foundation from 42 shades to a total of 60 shades! That’s even more than Rihanna’s brand. The 18 new shades promises to stay matte and able to cover up any complexion flaws. On top of that, it is apparently pretty long lasting too!
5. Dior Backstage
This year, Dior surprised the beauty industry with the recent launch of a more affordable beauty line called Dior Backstage during its Cruise 2019 fashion show in Chantilly, France. The launch which includes the new Face and Body Foundation is inspired by the backstage hassle in creating the perfect runway-ready look. The luxury brand’s latest product has all the components of a flawless foundation, in which it’s waterproof, heat and humidity resistant along with a natural and luminous finish. Yes, it includes 40 different shades as well, offering several different undertones such as rosy, olive and yellow.
Another famous foundation brand, Tarte has recently extended its ‘Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation’, from 25 shades to 40 — adding darker shades into its shade range. Hell yes. Formulated with natural Amazonian clay, vitamin E and mineral pigments, this vegan and cruelty-free foundation is designed to help balance skin and control oil while providing a full, long-wear coverage.
