Cute Style Ideas For Your Raya Outfit Using 2020s Colour Of The Year

With less than a month to go until Hari Raya Aidilfitri, plans may still be up in the air with the movement control order in place. However, that shouldn’t stop you from doing what you’ve done all the Raya’s before this – be it prepping your outfit, practising mindfulness in the days before or preparing to reunite with the rest of your family. It is important to keep up the tradition and routines of this festive season – for your own peace of mind and happiness. So, even if Raya 2020 turns out to be a virtual one, it shouldn’t have to be any less festive or fun.

2020s colour of the year just so happens to be the beautiful Classic Blue. Colour trendsetter Pantone chose the colour at the start of the year to increase the feeling of comfort and reliability (foreshadowing, much?). The Pantone 19-4052 shade is the same shade as “a bowl of ripe blueberries, the mystical Japanese indigo dyeing Aizome, the writings of a blue ink pen or the majestic dark shade that you’d see when you stare into the sky at dusk tonight”. The colour is said to describe dependability, trustworthiness and credibility.

On that note, this Raya, trust that this year will only get better and know that you can depend on yourself and your loved ones to get you through it. Let’s look at how we can use the shade in our Raya 2020 outfit to bring comfort to ourselves –

1. Accessorise

Doesn’t the idea of a one size fits all accessory sound amazing? These versatile headbands are more than just for your head! These chic pieces can be worn on your wrist, around your neck, as a hair tie and as an accessory on your bag!

Or if you prefer a more practical piece that does not require too much thinking, these beautiful polymer clay earrings are the perfect fit for elegance without being overbearing. The detailing that goes into polymer clay accessories is amazing! Just look at how intricate the leaves on the earrings are! You’re sure to be the talk of the season with this gorgeous set!

2. Makeup

Smoky liner is such a cool (and sultry! 😍) look but it usually takes me much longer that an ordinary cateye 🙈 It's just hard to get that perfect blend, I never know when to stop 😁 . What look is the hardest for you to do? Let me know 😉 . 🔻 Eyes: @anastasiabeverlyhills Sultry palette, @inglot_cosmetics @inglot.ukraine AMC Pure pigment eyeshadow in 117

For those of you who are blessed with the ability to blend the perfect mix of shadows – this one is for you! Even the simplest of outfits can be played up with the right electrifying makeup look! Thankfully the classic blue hue goes well with just about any colour – if your Raya outfit is purple, throw in some purple. If you happen to have a gold theme this year, line your blue with the gold and you will look Raya glam in no time. And for those who have trouble mastering the right amount of shadow (i.e. those like me!), throw on some blue mascara for an elevated, edgy look!

3. Nails

If gel nails aren’t your thing because of how difficult it is to get them off and normal nail polish chips too easily, try these press-on nail designs! You can swap them out whenever you want and the variety of designs means you have every possibility available to you in the palm of your hands!

4. Comfy shoes

No outfit is complete without a cute pair of shoes. Whether or not you’ll be making the trek back home this festive season, pick up cute pair to complete your outfit for the perfect #RayaOOTD in your backyard!

5. One Bag To Rule Them All

Sometimes, the wrong bag choice can throw your whole outfit off balance. Don’t fumble around when taking an #OOTD as you try to hide your bag; this bag takes your outfit from day to night in an instant – depending on how you choose to sling it!
