Bretman Rock Wins Beauty Influencer Of The Year 2019

Bretman Rock has cinched “da baddest” win yet. The 21-year-old Hawaii-based beauty guru won Beauty Influencer of The Year 2019 at the People’s Choice Awards.

The unconventional beauty guru beat out 7 other nominees, including his peers James Charles and Nikita Dragun. Other nominees were NikkieTutorials, Jeffree Star, Rachel Levins, Desi Perkins and Jackie Aina.

In 2018, the coveted title was won by controversial beauty guru James Charles. This year, the win is under Bretman Rock’s belt.

Without a doubt, this is one of the biggest moments in Bretman Rock’s journey as a beauty guru.

Unlike most beauty influencers, Bretman Rock isn’t your typical one. He doesn’t post about makeup and skincare all the time. Instead, the influencer prefers to curate his personal profile with different types of content.

His videos are pretty random, including some terribly entertaining rants, weird talents (the one where he spins cushions with his fingers), life hacks, videos of him pole dancing like the pro he is, videos of his sister Princess and niece Cleo, and one of our favourite series, Bretman The Science Bitch, where the beauty influencer of the year breaks down simple science experiments.

He first shot to fame with hilarious makeup tutorials back in 2015. Watch this one and listen to the commentary for a good time.

Needless to say, the rest is history. He has 13.7 million followers on Instagram (and counting) and has built a social media empire of his own. He’s frequently the focal point of memes, and now he’s everyone’s favourite beauty influencer of 2019.

Bretman Rock got interested in beauty at a young age while watching his grandmother get ready for church. He told Elle Magazine:

“I feel like beauty got into me before I even knew what beauty was. I’ve always just loved admiring my grandma get ready and seeing how a touch of makeup made her so much more confident. She walked differently and carried herself differently with just makeup and perfumes.”
