It works like the birth control patch


A patch that sticks on your arm is readily available at the doctors’ but this is the first innovation of a patch that’s small enough to be hidden behind your earrings. It administers a contraceptive hormone called levonorgestrel, which is the same type of hormone as in IUD. So far, it’s proven to be 99% effective against pregnancy.

The researchers preferred earrings because they can be designed with a flat back, and has a surface that can be pressed discreetly into the skin. Most women wear earrings every day, throughout the day. Meanwhile, some women may forget to take the pill, but more often than not, they won’t forget to put on their earrings.
