5 Hollywood Celebrities You Wouldn’t Have Guessed Are Actually Part Asian

Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz had a moment on Twitter when his name started trending because people were suddenly made aware of (or reminded) that he is actually bi-racial.

Pete Wentz is of English and German descent on his father’s side and Afro-Jamaican descent on his mother’s side. Amongst his relatives is actress Kerry Washington.

This made us wonder, what about the celebrities that have Asian ancestry?

Naomi Campbell

The London born stunner is actually part Afro-Jamaican, part Jamaican-Chinese! While Campbell’s mother is Jamaican, she has never met her father, who left them when her mother was four months pregnant with her. Her paternal grandmother, however, carried the surname “Ming”.

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj is big on embracing Asian culture, so much so that she even calls herself the “Harajuku Barbie”. Turns out, the Trinidad-born rapper is actually part African, part Indian, and part Japanese. Her parents are of mixed Indian and Afro-Trinidadian ancestry while her great grandfather was Japanese. Minaj’s real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, ‘Maraj’ being a Hindu Indian surname derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Maharaja’.
