The next thing you should know, is the type of bra that you’ll be looking out for. Going into a lingerie store can be so intimidating, let alone walking around the shop, confused with the different types of bra.
Should you go for lace, strapless, wire or no wire? Which one is it? Fret not, we’re here to break down the types of bra needed by every friggin’ woman.
1. T-Shirt Bra
An essential bra that every woman literally need in her drawer. They may be plain and simple but work wonders. You can wear it underneath any shade of clothing and it’ll be invisible. Select basic colours like black, nude or white. It’s best to go with a colour that matches your skin tone. Also look for ones that feature supportive underwire, a seamless molded pad and adjustable straps. Never ever go for lace when it comes to selecting a t-shirt bra, as the lace will be seen when worn under a shirt.
2. Strapless or Convertible Bra
You want to own at least one decent convertible bra because it’s so versatile. You can change the straps to suit a racer back tank or criss-cross the straps together to wear it with that favourite halter top of yours. The tip is to choose one with a wider back that’s elastic to help keep it in place. You should also find ones that features underwire, boning and padding for additional support as there no straps to hold your boobs.
3. Push Up Bra
Push up bras are heaven sent to girls with smaller chest, as it’s usually designed with additional padding at the bottom portion of the cup to lift the breasts. This creates an illusion of a fuller busts and create or enhance your cleavage. But for all you girls with fuller figures, don’t be afraid to wear one as a good push up bra can also lift your boobs without necessarily making your chest bigger. This type of bra is great to use for evening wear or filled-out bodice.
4. Sports Bra
You want to make sure you are protecting your bust while working out as the breast tissue is really delicate and can lead to sagging. Doesn’t really matter if you prefer it with underwire or not, as long as they support your breasts properly. Plus, even if you’re not that athletic, you can always use your sports bra and style it as athleisure.
