10 Beauty Brands That Are Supporting The #BlackLivesMatter Movement

This past weekend we saw an uproar in response to the senseless deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery at the hands of the police. Their death has reignited the conversation about racial injustice and police brutality in America, and protestors took the streets to demand justice for Floyd and the other African-Americans who were senselessly killed by the police.

Since then, a long list of brands from different industries has spoken out and aligned themselves with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement. The industries are using this opportunity to not only show Black culture support, but to educate, to hire, and to get further involved in demanding justice—including the beauty community below:

1. Charlotte Tilbury

2. Fenty Beauty

3. Urban Decay

4. Glossier

Our voice is here to support the black community and condemn injustice. In the past we have not always spoken up on racial inequality, and admit we have a lot of work to do; as a global company, as people. We are a brand rooted in education and pledge to fight the widening gap of inequality by educating ourselves and each other, by working with community leaders to help guide us. As a first step, here is what we are doing: – donating to @naacp – having conversations at work about race and white privilege, encouraging employees to also have these conversations at home – educating ourselves on the work that needs to be done and supporting organisations that have been fighting for equality. We stand with every individual using their voice to evoke change against hate and encourage others to do the same.
